It's the PSA's birthday today!

Since our establishment in 1885, PSA members have campaigned tirelessly to achieve the working conditions you enjoy today.

Conditions we take for granted, like the five day working week, recreation leave, superannuation, sick leave, maternity leave, job security and more, were all fought for and won by the PSA and the broader union movement.

More recently, the PSA successfully campaigned to have the Redeployment, Retraining, and Redundancy (RRR) provisions (Appendix 1) included in the salaried enterprise agreement.

The state government still wants to remove RRR, which protects our members' job security.

The PSA is standing firm in the face of these attacks on yours and your colleagues’ achievements.

With this is mind, today is good day to ask your colleagues who are yet to join to become a member of the PSA. We encourage you to use our birthday today to talk about our union and share this Information Update with any colleagues who are yet to join us. Joining is easy, just click here.
