SSO’S can retroactively accrue TOIL for the public holiday
The Public Service Association (PSA) reminds SSO members that your enterprise agreement requires school leaders to give you a reasonable opportunity to accrue sufficient TOIL (time off in lieu) to cover your income for a public holiday.
Members have advised us that, once again, they are being told the time must be accrued prior to the public holiday. These members are being denied the opportunity to be paid for the public holiday of 26 January 2021 as they were unable to accrue the TOIL prior to the start of the school year. This is incorrect.
If you wish to be paid for the day and provided the opportunity to make up the hours you should notify your line manager and Principal.
