PSA Women

A woman's place is in her union

Women have always had an important role in the union movement, organising together to improve our working lives.  While we have come a long way, there is still more campaigning needed and change to be made.

Join our PSA Women's Network.

By getting involved with our network you can:

  • Connect - You will meet like-mind union women from all across the SA Public Sector
  • Develop new skills - by attending our events and training, there will be opportunities to build your advocacy skills and expand your knowledge of gendered issues in the workplace.
  • Make an impact - Your participation will help ensure that there is a gendered lens on our union campaigns, advocacy and lobbying.

After a full day of networking and workshops, members left the conference equipped with valuable resources and specific actions to build power in their workplaces.

All members are encouraged to take part in these significant events in 2025. Watch this space, as the Women’s Network Group will receive relevant information closer to these dates in 2025.

  • 2025 Women's Network Vision: Members discussed and shaped the vision for the Women's Network in 2025, focusing on empowering women, fostering a supportive community and the network participating in the meeting agenda, and reporting back from individual departments.

  • Resource packs: Guidelines on using PSA authorised campaign materials in worksites: Entitlement to a PSA union notice board as per the current Enterprise Agreement. If PSA members do not highlight the union's pressence within their departments, what message does this convey to the state government during negotiations?

Resource packs can be downloaded here for PSA notice boards:

Note: If you are unable to print any of these materials in your department, please contact the PSA to arrange for the materials to be printed and delivered to you.
