VOTE NO: ALLIED HEALTH AGREEMENT - WHY THE RUSH? YOU DESERVE MUCH BETTER

The government is rushing out a condition-stripping proposed agreement for Allied Health Professionals, Allied Health Assistants and Psychologists.

The proposed agreement does not have endorsement from the PSA.

The government is intending to steamroll through the voting process next week in the hope it will get through before you realise what you will lose.

The voting process may be finalised before workers covered by the agreement have had time to review it and come to a considered decision.

The proposed agreement would strip out or water down many important conditions won by PSA members over many years. It is divisive and inequitable.

The PSA is urging members to vote “No”.

The PSA is holding online meetings to discuss the proposed agreement. Click here to register for a meeting if you have not already attended one.

The proposed agreement has been negotiated with the government by the HSU and bargaining agents including Charlotte Watson, Celia Brougham, Tim Powell and PA.

The government has met many times with the HSU and these three bargaining agents in the development of their proposal.

However, the government refused to meet with the PSA following our rejection of their revised offer on 29 April 2025 until last Friday 20 June when they handed over a draft document without explanation, information or discussion.

Because the government’s conduct was obviously in breach of the best endeavours bargaining requirements of the Fair Work Act the PSA lodged an application in the SAET on Monday 23 June 2025.

Since then the government, the HSU, and the bargaining agents have taken active steps to stop the SAET hearing the PSA’s application.

The consequences of the government breaching the best endeavours requirements of the Fair Work Act and rushing though the voting process could have very serious consequences for PSA members and all those proposed to be covered by the agreement.

Vote No to protect and keep your conditions.

Vote No to negotiate a better deal.

Vote No to give yourself a chance to fully consider what this proposal means for you.

If you vote Yes you won’t have a second chance.

If you vote No it’s back to the negotiating table where the PSA will continue to stand up for you and protect your interests. The PSA will not sellout your interests.
